Before we had to do a plan for our dissertations we had to choose a topic to write an essay on and so because I was already becoming quite interested in what I was going to write for in my dissertation I did a small essay on it. When he gave me the feedback he said he thought it was a really original idea but I hadn't presented it quite as clearly as it needed to be but once I had got that essay back I could tell that he thought it was original and quite a good idea.
That kind of gave me the motivation to pursue the dissertation and carry on and so I would say that was a bit of a turning point because out of everything in the degree that dissertation is probably the thing that I have done the best, I think, and dedicated the most time to and taken enough of an interest in. So getting that essay back was kind of it gave me enough confidence that it was a good avenue to pursue for the dissertation and because I was interested in it, although it was difficult, it was, I don't know if enjoyable is the right word, but it was in a way, it was.
